Adam & Tacia’s Story

Cody Engstrom was working for a company called Industrial Finishes as a manager. In his role, Cody needed to have excellent communication skills. When your life is the balance of between customer service and employee support and management patients and attention to detail is key. One of his customers was a Color Gloer named Terry Hanson. Terry and Linda would come in and chat with Cody, they formed a lasting friendship. When the Hanson family decided to move to South Dakota Terry offered his Color Glo franchise to Cody. Terry recognized the qualities that Cody possesses that would make him perfect for the job. Cody was ready for the kind of change that would give him more time with his wife and baby.

The deal was done; Cody Engstrom joined the Color Glo family.

The Early Days

Cody lives his life with a grateful heart; he is grateful that his job at Industrial Finishes gave him the skills he has and the opportunity to meet Terry. Cody spent the next two months training with Terry. They worked on everything from color matching to Hot Cure repairs. Cody got to know the service managers at Terry’s dealerships. He started forming solid relationships with each one. Terry introduced Cody to his accountant who in turn, made business set up effortless. Cody has earned new accounts, at first, he wasn’t sure how to go about approaching or even finding the correct person. Somehow all things work out the way they should. Cody has achieved the balance between work and home life that he was looking for.

Perfecting the Craft

Terry and Cody have maintained a valuable friendship; Terry continues to mentor him, offering helpful tips on repairs and keeping his business thriving. Cody is also an active contributor to our What’sApp conversations. He is looking forward to growing his Color Glo business when his kids are in school full time. That might be a while, Everett is 4 and Isabella is 18 months. Cody has thought about adding an associate or two to maximize his territory and all the potential it holds, he would like to include the kids in a robust business when the time comes.

The Sears Family

Cody grew up like most kids, with daycare and family care in the preschool years, with after-school activities and programs during the school years. He wanted to have the flexibility to be home with his kids when Tacia is at work, his Color Glo business gives him that opportunity. Cody and Tacia are a busy couple. Tacia works at a Children’s hospital in the NICU. Her shifts are 12 hours two days a week. She finds her work rewarding, giving care to children who really need special attention. Cody conveyed that it is a blessing to have healthy children, being able to help others is a way of giving back.

The Engstrom family is close-knit with grandparents, uncles and aunts close by. They enjoy going to a family cabin on Mount Hood, spending time on the coast and doing all things outdoors. I have the idea that life is a place rich with adventure, family and love at the Engstrom house!
